Reminder to comment on time restricted one-way conversion of Milando Crescent in Edgemead

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to remind residents, interested parties or groups to have their say on the proposed conversion of Milando Crescent in Edgemead into a time restricted one-way from 06:30 – 08:30 and 14:00 – 15:30 in a clockwise direction. The comment period opened on Friday, 30 May and is scheduled to close on Monday, 30 June 2025. This statutory public commenting process is an important aspect of this undertaking.

‘The proposal aims to improve traffic circulation around Edgemead High School, where there is a high number of vulnerable road users during morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups. It is important that the City gathers as much input on this matter prior to going forward with this proposal. I hope that parents and community members in Edgemead will send us their views for inclusion and we look forward to making this crescent as safe as possible for school learners,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The time restricted one-way conversion on Milando Crescent will entail converting Milando Crescent into a one-way from 06:30 – 08:30 and 14:00 – 15:30 in a clockwise direction as well as erecting new road signs from Leitchworth Drive in Milando Crescent.

In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, the public and interested parties or groups are given the opportunity to submit comments, recommendations or input on the proposal to the municipality from 30 May to 30 June 2025.
